Organic Synthesis & Process Chemistry

About Dr.Kiranmai Nayani
Dr. Kiranmai Nayani post-graduated from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal and received a gold medal in M.Sc during the year 2003. She has experience in API process development in Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and contributed organic synthesis expertise towards CRO projects in Pharmaceutical Industries. She did her doctoral research in Organic Chemistry, under the supervision of Dr. S. Chandrasekhar (Ex-Director, CSIR-IICT), from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad and obtained Ph. D. from Kakatiya University. She worked with Prof. Francine ACHER (CNRS Senior Research Scientist) at University Paris Descartes, France as a postdoctoral researcher (2013-2014). She is recipient of post-doctoral fellowships from CSIR and DST funding agencies (2014-2021). In 2021, she joined CSIR-IICT as Senior Scientist in the Department of Organic Synthesis & Process Chemistry. Currently working on the synthesis of bioactive peptides & peptidomimetics, late-stage functionalization of peptides as an effective approach to diversify peptides for functional study, development of multicomponent and domino reactions for the synthesis of natural products & NCEs and novel/cost-effective process development of APIs/drugs.
